Story :: Gundam SEED, KiraLacus :: "Once Upon A Time"
I was pretty bored a while ago and so decided to make a KiraLacus fic. :D One good thing about this one is, it matches my LJ title. XD! I don't know, for some reason I dedicate this ficcy to inparusu. >_> I hope it isn't too weird!

Description: Lacus thinks about what would happen if life were really a fairytale. KiraLacus, one shot. The first part is through Lacus’ POV, ten years old. (That’s why her writing is so childish. =_=||) Reviews/comments welcome. Flames welcome tolerated. :P (Oh, and I don't own Gundam SEED. T_T Which is sad.)



Father doesn’t like it when I dream, he really doesn’t. But how can I not? Everything I see makes me think I’m living in fairytale. And, he gives me the books to read anyway. Sleeping Beauty is my favorite one, and when he’s not busy he reads it to me at bedtime. Other times I read it to myself.

My house is like the castle in the book. It’s nice and big and everyone inside has a nice time. Everyone works hard. My house is always clean, especially my room, because I clean it by myself! Father gives me a big hug when he sees it and lets me eat some ice cream-- strawberry, my favorite flavor! But I hardly see anyone sleeping, because I sleep before they do. In the book everyone falls asleep, even on the floor! Isn’t that weird?

Father is the king. He doesn’t spoil me, but he gives me what he thinks is important for me. If I’m good he buys me presents, usually clothes, but when I’m bad, he tells me to be good again because that’s the way he likes me. I always say yes because I don’t like seeing Father sad. When Father is sad I feel sad, too.

I don’t have a Mommy, but if I had, she would be the queen. She’s in a pretty place in the sky where she’s happy. I talk to her, sometimes, when I’m alone, but she never talks back. It’s sad. Maybe it’s because the place she is in is really far away, and her voice is so soft that I can’t hear it.

And I’m the princess. I can sing, like Princess Aurora. I can’t say I’m beautiful, but Father says I am. But a fairy hasn’t come up to tell me that I’ll get pricked by a spinning wheel and die, or even that I’ll just fall asleep. But if my life were a fairytale, a person would tell me that something’s missing. I know what is.

I don’t have any prince in my life yet. I don’t know if I ever will. I don’t care if he’ll be strikingly handsome, or anything that Princess Aurora’s prince is like. But one thing I know is, I’d like someone who really cares about others...

Lacus smiled as she finished reading one of her entries in her diary. Is that what I thought life was like? she chuckled to herself. She didn’t blame her ten-year old self one bit, though. Life really was peaceful back then. She wouldn’t have expected a war to happen, either.

“Lacus-sama?” a voice called for the pink-haired girl from outside. Foster knocked on her door lightly. “Lacus-sama? A Kira Yamato is here for you,” he told her. He knew that the girl loved the boy’s company, something the old man was happy about.

The blue-eyed girl said cheerily, “Coming!” As she said that, Lacus took her pen and wrote in her neat, cursive writing, on the last page of her diary...

I’ve found my prince.

THE END.

And with that, Lacus closed the book, got out of bed, and started down the stairs.

EDIT: Thanks to mizu_no_cagalli for noting that Lacus' eye color is blue, not purple. @_@ I should have noticed that!!
